Bicycle drawing

When I first discovered I was going to be drawing a bike I knew it wouldnt be an easy task. I learned a lot while drawing, including value scale and proportion. By using the value scale, I was able to really bring out the detail of the bike. I was able to make the metal actually look like metal. I used proportion by focusing in on one part of the bike and using as much space on the paper as I could. What surprised me the most about my drawing was how shading really brought the bike to life. Shading took a lot of time and patience. It was a painful process but in the end Im glad I took my time. Im proud of how my first piece of art came out.
